Since its inception Swello has had some sort of training or retreat each January — and this year, it was rebranded as “SWELLWEEK.” Not to be confused with “hell week,” this was one of the busiest and most hectic weeks I’ve had since joining team Swello, as it was filled with daily workshops and team activities that helped us to realign as an organization, and to focus on our mission, 2021 vision, and core values.
We learned about video content creation best practices from former Googler and Swello consultant James Schoen; practiced internal and external communication with double-Masters degree bearer and Swello co-founder Brandon Hellberg; discussed “extreme ownership” with Swello veteran and Ads Team Director Brett Rossell; and built cohesive brand strategies under the direction of web wizard and Creative Team Director Allie O’Bryant.
Often paired with fun and engaging activities, these workshops really helped us to grow together as a team and to solidify our understanding of key digital marketing principles and strategies.
Perhaps one of the most impactful team meetings involved the entire team discussing together our 2021 vision: “Become the fastest growing digital marketing agency in Arizona.” We are determined to reach this vision by adhering to our updated core values:

To end the week, we went on a scavenger hunt that took us on through the history of Swello — and ended at Skateland, a staple of the Mesa, Arizona roller skating scene.
